This demo was created as a part of my internship for Torch Technologies in the summer of 2021. The task that I was assigned with was to create a unique way to visualize models of the next generation of Army combat vehicles, specifically utilizing augmented reality technology (the Hololens 2 was used for our purposes). Over the course of creating the demo, I got to learn more about Unreal Engine, specifically about UX design in AR as well as interfacing with real world geometry.
The demo below showcases a stand-in vehicle driving on a desert terrain. The beauty of the project is the viewport: the black space that surrounds the terrain. The size and zoom of the viewport can be changed to the viewer's liking, which is essential to not overwhelm the viewer in augmented reality.
